Discount Calculator
CalculatorsSale price, savings & original price
The Discount Calculator solves the three discount problems shoppers and sellers actually face: (1) What is the final price after a percentage discount? (2) How much do I save? (3) Given a sale price and discount percent, what was the original price? Each mode updates live as you type.
Discount math is easy to get wrong in your head — especially when stores stack percentages ('take an extra 20% off already-reduced prices'). A $80 item at '30% off' saves $24 and costs $56. Stack another 20% off that, and you save another $11.20 for a final price of $44.80 — not the 50% off your instincts might suggest. This calculator does the arithmetic correctly so you know exactly what you are paying.
Mode 1 (final price) answers 'A $120 jacket is 25% off — what do I pay?' (answer: $90, saving $30). Mode 2 (savings) is the same calculation framed around how much you keep in your pocket. Mode 3 (original price) is the reverse — useful when you see a 'Sale: $45 after 40% off' sign and want to know what the item originally cost ($75). This reverse calculation is also handy for sellers setting discount percentages from a target sale price.
The tool handles any percentage and any currency (it is currency-neutral). Everything runs locally in your browser; no prices are transmitted or stored.
